Oversupply of dentists sparks fierce competition in big Canadian cities
New dental graduates often face hundreds of thousands of dollars in student debt. In their first years of practice, many dental associates make just enough income to cover the debt and survive. Many pine for the day they can afford to open their own practice.
Those lucky few who can take steps to run their own dental clinic, often face astronomical barriers which can include inflated purchase prices.
What are new graduates to do in centres such as Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal, where an oversupply of dentists have left few options?
