Ottawa Has Failed to Serve Iran

Ottawa has failed for months to serve plane crash lawsuit on Iran, as legally required, lawyer says

June 22, 2020, The National Post today published an article entitled “Ottawa has failed for months to serve plane crash lawsuit on Iran, as legally required, lawyer says”. In it, reporter Tom Blackwell reports that some believe Global Affairs Canada may be purposefully failing to serve the lawsuit on Iran because Canada and Iran are attempting to negotiate new diplomatic ties. Such failure is at odds with the Government of Canada’s official stance that its first priority is making progress on the plane crash, i.e. justice and compensation for the victims’ families.

Despite Ottawa’s continued failure, our lawsuit is moving forward. We look forward to posting updates to this website on an ongoing basis.
