Ottawa ‘close to serving Iran’ with class action lawsuit

Lawyers for Global Affairs Canada & the Deputy Ministry of Foreign Affairs Canada advise the court they expect to serve Iran with this class action lawsuit by the end of September 2020.

July 16, 2020. A senior lawyer for the Canadian Government advised the court during our motion to validate service on Iran, they expect to either serve Iran with this lawsuit or have a substantial update regarding such service on Iran, by the end of September 2020. We proposed to adjourn our motion to that time, to permit the Government of Canada more time to serve Iran. The Court agreed and our motion was adjourned.
